It has spots for tents and campers, includes portable restrooms and a dumpster. The campground does not have wild animals roaming in its area hence making it safe for kids to wander around with minimal supervision.
Rhea Springs
Rhea Springs is a campground that is located North East of Spring City in n Rhea County, Tennessee. The campground is consists of about 30 acres of land and 1,837 feet of shoreline making it a great place to camp and does various recreational activities such as camping, boating, fishing, and swimming.
Rhea Springs features a bathhouse, picnic tables, a fishing pier, a fire ring, parking spaces, and a paved circle drive. Make sure to bring your own leveling blocks as the sites are not leveled. The campground sites in on a first come first serve basis so make sure to come or reserve early.
Paint Creek Corridor
Open all year round, Paint Creek Corridor is located inside the Cherokee National Forest which is full of amazing views and stunning landscapes. Here, you can get a scenic view of waterfalls while enjoying a picnic. The campground offers various recreational activities such as biking, hiking, fishing, scenic driving, and many more.
When boondocking here, make sure not to bring alcoholic beverages as it is not allowed. It also has a limit of only 2 vehicles per site and only 5 people per group. The site includes picnic tables, drinking water, parking spaces, and vault toilets.
Hunter’s Check Station Camping
Surrounded by a beautiful wooded area, Hunter’s Check Station Camping is located at Prentice Cooper State Forest. The site features various hiking trails for hiking, exploring, sightseeing, and many more.
During the summer months, a water pump is available for campers to use to gather and collect water. The campsite can accommodate large pickup campers hence perfect for those who camp in large groups.
Davis Pond Camping Area
Another secluded camping campground is Davis Pond Camping Area which is also located at Prentice Cooper State Forest. It features a flat and grassy area that’s perfect for hiking, camping, exploring, and many more. It also has a dirt road great for trekking.
The camp gate closes at sunset and opens the day after. It has several parking spots good for 10 or more campers and includes a restroom, a fire pit, and a picnic table on site.
Rocky Springs Campground
Located near the south of the Natchez Trace Parkway, Rocky Springs Campground is a nice quiet campground that allows campers to go boondocking. It includes 22 sites for camping, picnic tables, and restroom. It features various hiking trails where you can an relax and explore its historical sites.
