Blocking a ball moving on the ground

1. Adopt ready position.

2. Bend the knees and lower the left hand so that the heel of the hurl rests on the ground. This is the blocking position on the strong side.

3. Pupils practice moving from ready position to blocking position.

Points to note:

  • Pupils miss balls continuously because:
  • Not moving body near ball- trying to block from to far away.
  • Not maintaining feet in a comfortable position and over balancing when attempting to block.
  • Not keeping eyes on ball.
