Rahoon/Newcastle Hurling Club is one of Galways oldest hurling clubs dating back to 1889. The club incorporates an area stretching from Barna to Curcullen and all the way to Shantalla, taking in areas such as Bushypark, Dangan, Newcastle, Westside, Rahoon, Mincloon, Bothair Stiofan, Clybaun Road, Ballymoneen Road, Boleybeg, Corbally, Morgan, Drum, Oranswell, Corcullen and Thonabrucky.

These areas have a large and growing youth population which is mirrored in the Clubs membership

In 1997 the club purchased 8 acres at Thonabrucky. This ''field of  dreams'' now boasts one of Galways finest playing surfaces which was completed in 2003 at a cost of  €500,000.The club is currently  embarking  on the development of its club house facilities at a projected cost of €400,000.

These facilities will enable us to cater for the  development of young players and contribute in a positive manner to our local community

Rahoon/Newcastle Hurling clubs Friend's Scheme allows you to enhance your experience with our club as well as providing vital support to the  development of our new  club house  facilities currently under construction. The continued support from our Friends is crucial in bridging the gap between the costs of  providing state of the art facilities and the funding raised from government grants through  the grateful assistance of  Minister Eamon O' Cuiv.

Listed below you will find the categories and benefits for our 2006 Friends Scheme. We do hope that you will consider supporting our scheme.
